Portuguese Gastronomy
In my opinion, it deserves the same praises we bestow on the French or Italian cuisine. Totally different from North to South, it offers a wide range of typical dishes for each region of the country.
The meats (lamb, kid, Barosa beef, “porco preto”), the cheeses (a temptation hard to resist), the desserts (essentially made of egg yolks, or fruit of the season), the wines (in the last decades they have greatly improved), and, of course, the fish.
At the mill you will find a guide of good restaurants in Portugal (please remember to leave it there on your departure). You may take a look at the section “Gastronomy” and decide to have lunch in a restaurant along your route of the day: good quality and fair price are assured. (It should be noted that one portion is more than enough for two adults).
